I am running Windows Vista Home Premiumx64 and have been running Windows
Defender since it came out, Several weeks ago I downloaded Microsoft
Security Essentials and I am running this program Also, I have noticed that
Windows Defender is always being shut off, is Microsoft Security Essentials
shutting down Windows Defender so there is no conflict between the two
software programs or is something wrong ????

    Hello Steve,

This is normal. Microsoft Security Essentials turns off Windows
Defender since it is to be used instead as it's replacement. No worries.

Thanks Shawn for the information, I thought this was what was happening but
was not sure, I'll leave Windows Defender off and just go with Microsoft
Security Essentials, I'll be upgrading to Windows 7 Premium in October so I
will only have Windows Essentials on my computer then.
