Hey! That's great to hear doug! I was hoping it was the driver. Every thing I read on the web pointed to the driver.
Also users are complaining about W10 up dating the driver and then having problems, so might want to be on a look for that.
    Thanks for feed back!

That is great that the correct driver fixed your issue thanks for reporting back. As far as Windows 10 updates they don't really seem to update audio drivers often, mostly OS patches and occasionally a video driver, but even that is very far and few between. From my own observation and I am all over W10 most days.

I already knew it was the driver I was doing c-media audio driver modifications 10 years ago ;) Anytime you lose auto-jack sensing it has to do with driver functionality in most cases unless you have a hardware issue with a connection break. I am a huge audio buff Gary, not to mention .. i'm always testing things.

I have been getting several WOT warning when clicking on realtec driver! Be careful. I'm thinking the realtec site may have been compromised!!

I mentioned a driver first off. How about you repost your previous post with WOT on the "real" Realtek site. By the way the OP's audio solution isn't Realtek.

I'm just saying there's some thing going on with Realtek. There site has been down for nearly a week.
I don't know what's going on. Please be careful down loading Realtek drivers.
I've never seen that before! Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm thinking they may have been compromised.

You are right, I have heard the same. I get all Realtek drivers from either MSI, or Gigabyte, or ASrock. If you know your operating system and the specific Realtek codec you have (ALC 662,850,892,1150) you can simply find a board with the same codec, pick your OS, and be on your way.

Dougie that site has been compromised a few times, and lately too, but it's good to know it's ok now. I don't have WOT but I do have a few other measures to tell me if the site is bad, and it was ok for me too.

Glad to hear the site is up and running. The WOT warning I got may be do to the site being compromised.
I don't know?? Sorry William I missed your post on the driver. I apologize!
Glad the OP got their issue solved!

Yes indeed. Gary it is Realtek based - the driver and the pure hardware chip that is ... but it's Conexant as well, which in essence means it's an OEM tuned driver. This was something I had eluded to in another post somewhere in another thread where specifically with laptops, because of how "special" they are, regarding the OEM nature of it, sometimes they partner with other solutions like Creative Labs, etc. Conexant has modem drivers as well, and in laptops, where you may have all inclusive audio solution then you have what is called a "Conexant Audio Driver", but it's more like a Realtek audio driver with the network/modem drivers inclusive. Sounds nuts I know. it depends on the model.
