Yes it should be there. Click start button. Paste in the following line into
the search box, and press enter

    %SystemRoot%\ehome\ehshell.exe

See what happens. Report any error messages in full.

Don't you just love it when the new guy forgets his cap lock. Anyway. I
did get a good answer from Jon, Bills was just to ask me about my cap
locks. I suppose he didn't know how to help me with my problem. I will
do as you recommend Jon and report any error messages in full. And,
thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.

OK, I tried copying and pasting that in. The error message is as
    follows:
    Windows Media Center
Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a
software restriction policy. For more information contact your system
    administrator.

That is the total error message. Any help is appreciated. Like I said I
bought a new copy of Windows Vista Ultimate and it is supposed to have
the media center on it. - Thanks again.

    Cap Locks OFF!

    See if this helps ....

Control Panel > Default Programs > Set Program Access and Computer Defaults

Under "Custom" ensure that 'Enable access to this program" is checked for
    "Windows Media Center" .
Check it and click 'Ok', if not.

    Jon,
I want to thank you, thank you, thank you. I did what you said and
guess what. It didn;t work so I got sad and shut the computer down for
the night and thought all was lost./ Tonight after work I came in the
bedroom, booted it up and do you know what happened? I clicked on the
Media Center Icon just to show someone the error message I was getting
and MEDIA CANTER CAME ON AND STARTED UP AND WORKS JUST FINE. HOORAY!!!

I can't thank you enough and I am grateful that you cared enough to
stick with me and help me to solve my problem even though it was your
problem. I appreciate that part of someone that does for others even
when not required. Thank you and may many good things come your way.
    Always.
