Vista: No sound playing DVD's

Using the latest Media Player I have no sound playing DVD movies. Other
sounds such as music work and so do system sounds. I think somebody changed
settings and now No DVD sound at all. Realtek sound built in on Acer Laptop.
Checked devices and all seems normal. Any ideas? Thanks.

 

Try load these codecs...
Install the standard and, while installing, uncheck their media player.

Try to play it with VLC ( 'Download VLC Media Player 1.0.2 -
FileHippo.com' () ). VLC can play most
anything. I am more hesitant on the codec packs. You might want to read
this before you venture into codec packs( 'Why Codec Packs Are Bad ::
How-To Geek Wiki'

Get the AC3 decoder (filter) and I'm pretty sure than you will then hear
your DVDs.
