Vista & Microsoft Office Programmes

    Hi All

Was wondering if any of you can help me. Everytime I start up an Office
programme, be it Word or PowerPoint, the EULA Agreement keeps popping up. The
programme has been activated online and I did not have a problem with this
issue whilst I ran Microsoft Office in an XP environment. Having upgraded to
Vista recently, the EULA Agreements has been popping up everytime I started
any of the programmes in the Office Suite

I'm using Microsoft Office 2003 Professional and Vista Home Basic with a SP1
    update

Please advise if any of you have a solution

    Thank you very much
    En

  2. Go to Control Panel --> User Accounts and turn-off User Account Control.
Restart your computer, start an Office program, accept the EULA, restart an
Office program to make sure EULA doesn't pop-up, go back to User Accounts
and turn User Account Control on, then restart your computer once again.

    Oh My Gawd!
You mean some people actually like to get paid for their software
    development work?
How could a thing like that have ever happened in a capitalistic society?

Carey as an alternative couldn't he just right-click and run as admin for a single session to accept the EULA?

It's worked for me in the past.

Thanks All for replying. In answer to Shane's & Rick's question/solution:

    1. I log on as an Administrator all the time and I've tried all the options
to repair it but it didn't work
    2. Did that with the Office CD as well and it didn't seem to update properly

Anyhow, I'll give Cary's sugestion a bash and will let you know if it works

    Cheers

One of the reasons I went to Linux. Even with the many issues in Linux
I stayed with it since with a little effort you can manage it without
puting up with this type of crap. Eventually, these things will happen.

There will be a universal package manager.

All the installs will be place in the same folders between distros

Most of the mfg will have out of the box software and drivers.

And you may see Linux versions for most commercial software like
    photoshop. Nero is already there.

Even though it runs under its own version of wine Picassa runs under
    Linux and does it well.

I am having the exact same issue but with a Vista Ultimate 64-bit system that
I have recently installed Office 2003 on. The solution you suggested did not
help - I still get the EULA every time I open an Office app. I could not
find a way to launch any Office App 'as an admin' although my user account is
set up to be an administrator. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I actually got it to work finally but I guess I was not asking the right
question. What I should have asked is how do I know when I am running
something as an administrator. I have set up my account as an admin but on
top of that I have to tell every app I run I want it to treat me as an
admin!!?? Now I am inclined to side with the Linux psychos that posted in
    other parts of this thread.

At any rate, problem solved - Thanks for the help.

    Hi, James.

You'll be glad to know that Windows 7 is much less intrusive in its
enforcement of User Account Control. And Win7 will be here Real Soon Now.
