Vista is freezing on me

    MMDEVAPI DEVICE WINDOW:
    RtHDVcpl.exe: Application Error
    The instruction at 0x777860163 referenced memory at 0x00004000. The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program.

    Run memory diagnostic. Boot up using the Vista DVD and navigate your way to
    the memory tester.

    Could be page file problem since it wont read or write the memory, but
    as stated above run the memory diagnostic. You dont need to vista disks
    for that.

    Go to start search > type MdSched.exe > hit enter > then schedule a
    memory check for the next reboot > reboot and let it run
