There are different answers depending on your situation. Since you told us
nothing about that, no one can help you directly. If you would care to try
again, please post more effectively the next time:

Funny question. It either is or it is not genuine. How do you make an
imitation Rolex into a genuine Rolex?

Please quote something of the post to which you are replying. There is no
way for me to tell whether you are replying to the OP or to me. If to me,
then it is not uncommon for Windows machines to report that they are not
genuine because of a glitch or because of malware. If the OP has an HP
laptop that came with Vista preinstalled for example, there is no question
that the license is genuine and troubleshooting will be done accordingly. If
the OP has a generic-built computer and the OS license is of questionable
    provenance, that's another story entirely.

My point to the OP was that there are several answers depending on his/her
particular situation. Hence the request for clarification.

Hopefully that supplies clarification to *your* question.

  7. You're running a pirated copy which is known to steal passwords/creditcards
EVERYTHING & send to a special group of people in China.
You're going into a megatrouble soon.

I yrge you to spend a few more dollars and get genuine Windows.
It's a one-time expense which removes the threat described above, entitles
you to cheap upgrades and relieves you from constant problems which is too
    long to describe.

    Don't be a loser.
Spend some money, even though I know it's hard during Recession & contact
Microsoft and they have a special team that helps people with
    Genuin ongenuine error messages.
They will ask a lot of questions, but you'll get a solution, I gyuarantee

  8. Where did Acer come from?
An Asian soruce? Are you in Asia?
You know why you lose some of the "loved" here?
Because in your countries, people still have no concept that Software Piracy
    is a crime.

Something is odd here. Normally you would not ever need to activate an OEM
laptop (one from Acer, Dell, HP, etc.) that came with Vista preinstalled. So
you aren't telling us the whole story and/or something has been seriously
wrong with this Windows installation for a while now.

The first thing is always to make sure the computer is virus/malware-free:

If the computer is seriously infected (or was seriously infected) and that's
the information you forgot to give us, back up your data and restore the
laptop to factory condition using whatever method Acer provided. If you
don't know how to do this, contact Acer tech support or take the laptop to a
competent local computer tech. This will not be someone from a
    BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place.

    Otherwise see:

You may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer on which Windows
Vista was already activated by a Volume License or OEM installation
