    Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can help me? I have a re-occuring, intemittent
    Bluescreen problem.
I do not have enough experience with windows to work it out. I have
been dealing with Dell support and they do not seem to be able to tell
me what is causing the problem.
I have had the motherboard replaced. reinstalled vista and updated my
wireless card driver. The error mainly occurs during startup and I have
noticed a couple of times I have had the power supply plugged in but not
turned on, or have just unplugged the power supply.
I have attached two zipped minidump files.
I hope someone may be able to take a look at these for me?

The laptop is a Dell Studio 17
    Vista ultimate
    4g of ram
wireless card Dell 1510 mini card

    Thanks in advance
    Ants

    0x0000007F: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

One of three types of problems occurred in kernel-mode: (1) Hardware failures. (2)
Software problems. (3) A bound trap (i.e., a condition that the kernel is not
allowed to have or intercept). Hardware failures are the most common cause (many
dozen KB articles exist for this error referencing specific hardware failures) and,
of these, memory hardware failures are the most common.

    Thanks for the reply.
I have run memory tests that tell me there is no memory problem. I do
not know how to check for hardware problems ,kernal traps, and software
problems that is why I posted this along with the minidumps. I am hoping
someone may be able to tell me what the problem is. I have already spent
many hours searching newsgroups and speaking to Dell support and not
been able to figure it out.

    Thanks

    Help !!!!!
Is there someone who can explain to me how to fix my problem? I am a
novice I am trying to resolve this problem myself as Dell will not help.
I have been told it is being caused by the driver for the wireless
network card and to upgrade to latest driver...I have done this and it
    still crashes.

This is the latest from the event viewer from this mornings BSOD

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent
WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND
TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in
namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be
delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Pretty sure this is a known bug:

Down on the bottom of the second page is the recommended fix,
it requires you to cut and paste some scripting commands.

    Hi,

It says it stops the message appearing but does it stop my computer
crashing? I have seen this fix but people seem to thing it just gets rid
of the error message? Would you know if this is correct?

    Thanks

Your computer isn't crashing because of this message. This
message (the problem causing the message) is stopping the reason your
computer is crashing from being logged. (I think :) Fix it and you'll see
    why you're crashing.

    Ok,

I have run the script. Now a matter of waiting to see if/when I get the
next BSOD. As i said its intermittent
I did talk to Dell yet again yesterday; they deleted contents of
    readyboot folder? and ran ccleaner.

    Thanks

BSOD is back with a vengence. If I unlug power or try startup with mains
supply disconnected it crashes with same error (7f) as before. Dell is
now going to pickup and hopefully repair. Laptop is a Dell Studio
    17.................

I convinced Dell support(????) to run the debug
The error message has been traced to a broadcom driver. I was told to
update to the latest driver and all would be ok...well it was ok for a
couple of weeks now the laptop will not run off batteries at all ant the
exact same error message has appeared again. which i have been told
points to the broadcom driver? Any one have any suggestions?

    Thanks
