    Hi
I have a prolem with vista ultimate 64 bit at startup it always stuck
and i mean stuck like you cant move the mouse or keyboard not a program
stuck, so i have to press reset to reboot it. I think its a software
problem and not hardware cause m pc is quite new (like 2 months). I
think maybe its the nvidia drivers causing the problem anyone familiar
with this? I have gigabyte gtx 260, intel core 2 due 3 GHZ, samsung
syncmaster 931c monitor, 4GB RAM, so really I think its not the
    hardware,
here is a list from the msconfig of the programs run on startup, what
program do you think i should try cancel to check if it stucking my pc?

    Hi,

When you get stuck, are you starting from a "cold" system - ie: one that was
turned off? If, when you restart it, does it work ok then? Or is it on any
    reboot?

Just because a system is new, you should not assume it is not hardware.
Hardware failures in new systems are very common, and actually occur just as
frequently as in old systems. Hardware generally fails early on or lasts
    several years.

I ask the above question because if a system fails on a cold boot, then runs
ok when restarted, it's usually because of a faulty component, most commonly
a motherboard issue like a blown capacitor or faulty solder line that
doesn't work initially but then works ok once power is applied and the
component expands when warmed up. It's also possible that the cause can be
faulty memory, power supply, or processor.

Try disabling all the BitDefender entries.

I don't know if this is the same problem you are experiencing but...

I run into this problem when I change which USB port my keyboard and mouse
is plugged into while the computer is off. Windows doesn't install the
driver for the keyboard until after I have logged in and I can't log in
    without typing in the password.

It doesn't matter if you have USB keyboard support set to BIOS in CMOS. The
way Windows is designed it takes over USB ports during the boot up, but it
can't installed the keyboard drivers until after the log in.

This happened one time when I upgraded my motherboard and the USB port
assignments changed. I ended up using a PS/2 keyboard and mouse to log in
and then once Windows detected and installed the drivers for the USB
keyboard and mouse I was able to disconnect the PS/2 devices and continue
    using the USB devices.

Having thought about, you could probably just boot up in to safe mode to
solve this problem. It doesn't require a password and once you get to the
desktop it will detect and install the keyboard and mouse drivers. USB
keyboard and mouse driver are included in the safe mode boot.

Then just reboot to normal Windows boot.
