Simply right click on the Computer icon seen on the desktop to look at
the system/user information shown there. At the bottom it will show if
    Windows has been activated.

You may also go to Start - Help and support and type in "windows activation"
    in the search box.

That also works for the 7 beta as well. [IMG]

When tried in 7 all you see is the Q+A links when the help and support
window appears. The previous methods posted should work in XP through 7
    beta reliably.

Simply right clicking on the Computer icon seen on the desktop and
selecting properties brings you to the same screen. That shows the
version of Windows, what service pack is installed, computer
administator, work group, and the last portion showing if Windows is
activated along with the product key.

When you right click on the desktop in Vista you see the "personalize"
option in place of "properties" as seen with XP.

  10. There are a number of ways of accessing the information you want, Control
Panel>System is the one I use. Right clicking on the desktop does not
provide a 'properties' option. Instead the 'personalize' option appears
giving you access to ways of modifying appearance and sound.

You don't have to agree with an artist's opinion
to appreciate the art with which he expresses it.

    Right-click Computer > Properties.

And get out of that crappy EggheadCafe and point your newsreader to:
    microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
where you do not have to be a ' member' of anything to post or reply to posts.
