I deleted a user account (via Control Panel>User Accounts) and selected to
delete all files etc relating to the user. However, the user's folder still
appears in Users folder in Explorer with various subfolders. I understand
there may be problems if I simply delete this folder. Is there a safe way
    to get rid of it?

    Hello Doug,

Since you have deleted the user account first through the Control
Panel, it will be safe to just right click on it's
"C:\Users\(user-name)" folder and delete it. It is left there by default
in Vista for a way to recover any files in that user account's user
    folders if needed. That's all.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
