My Cruzer was being loaded on my new home vista machine and all was
going normal untill the u3 started launching. Once the roboform was
comming up it all went away and the led on the drive shut off.
Now when i can get any machine to recognize the cruzer it comes up as
    an unknown USb Device.

anybody have any suggestions as to how i can get this thing working
again? of course i want my data, who dosnt?

Vista doesn't support U3 versions below 1.4. If you want to use that drive
with Vista, you'll need to remove U3 and format it. Just formatting the
    drive won't remove the U3 partition/program.

It sounds like the drive has been scrambled. If the data isn't backed up
somewhere else, contacting Sandisk is probably your next step. Professional
data recovery companies like Drive Savers (
    ) can
retrieve data off USB thumb drives but that will be quite expensive. If the
data doesn't matter because you have it elsewhere and you get no joy from
Sandisk, I'd just toss the drive and buy a new one without any extra
software on it. I've purchased 8GB Kingstons from NewEgg.com for ~$15/ea.
so this isn't a costly step.
