    Hi Gunner.

    I would wait till your Hughes Status meter, returns to around 100%,

    and continue downloading at least the important updates.

    Microsoft updates are very important, to the smooth running of your OS.

    This week, (Patch Tuesday) there is a record amount of  updates,

    to fix something like 50 Vulnerabilities,so it will be a drag on your download Allocation. :)

    I am not even going to ask what would make you think that! Updates really are there for a reason and one of the biggest no no is cancelling them in the middle.

    Thank You DSTM---Well as I said My meter was about 95% when I started the updates---went to 19% in 15 min. . If I let it continue I would have been F.A.P.'d & THAT IS A NO NO. ( ya think dial up is slow---get zapped by F.A.P.---might just as well shut down it is so slow )

    I agree that updates are important.

    I will install them tomorrow between 3am & 7am---thats when I get free download time.

    BTW--now this morning all my desk top Icons were off to one side & very small ( fixed that) & also tool bar & task bar smaller---thats ok with me---but also the print is now smaller & now yahoo mail does not fill the page?????

    Well now a bit confused---got up early to do the update & the Nod 32 Icon has now turned back to green on my desk top. I see no 'updates availabe' on my desktop or my laptop either.?
    How do I find out if I have been updated?-----------------------(did it do it on it's own while I was asleep)

    BTW---I just noticed all my desktop Icons have been moved around ?

    You don't tell us what OS you are using but that looks a bit like Windows7. In any case. Look at the bottom right of the screenshot that you posted and you will see "Windows Update" If you click on it you should get to another window where you will find a small link to "Update History" that should tell you if there were any recent unsuccessful updates. Eset will not necessarily tell you. It will turn Green as soon as you open its update advisory. It will not recognize if you choose to ignore any of them or if the download fails.

    It looks like you are using Vista actually :p But Barry is correct, another way to find out for Windows updates follow these simple instructions;

    > Click Start
    > Select All Programs
    > Click on Windows Update
    > Click on Check for Updates

    If you wish to check for Nod32 updates then follow these instructions;

    > Open Nod32
    > Click on the Update tab
    > Click Update Now

    If no updates are installed then it should show that your software is up to date with the latest definitions.

    Thanks Guys-----I see by the Att. --Windows updates that is set to auto update every day at 3am--( kinda remember that now---it was long ago )--perhaps my computer was shut down ( thats rare---unless it is stormy )the first time it tryed to auto update---but did it the next night.
    Next time I see a update notice I will let it go so it will do it auto---Cause if I do it in the daytime It EATS up my alloted time. I got too 5% that day & just shut down till 5pm---when it reverts back to 100%

    Did you check the history (see post # 7 ) to see if you have any failed updates from yesterday?
