Dell Inspiron 530 with Vista sp2.

Boots up slower that normal. Desktop appears. Can select an icon on desktop
but double- click and Exploer hangs.

Alternative traverse up Satrt menu and hangs when a program is selected

Alternately type into Search Bar above Start button and hangs also.

Therefore cant use Explorer to System Restore look at Control Panel.

    Please help.

    Thanks

    Julian

Try running Malwarebytes in safe mode.
Boot into safe mode (F8 while booting).
Select ' Safe mode with networking'.
Go here and download the Free Version ( blue button).

Install it, let it update and then do a full scan of your C drive.
