Taskbar icons disappearing

Discussion in 'Windows Vista' started by Annie Woughman, Jun 9, 2009.

  1. Windows Home Premium
    HP Pavilion dv2700 Notebook PC

Since a recent windows update some of the icons available in the
notification area have disappeared. At first the Power indicator and the
wireless notification were gone. I did a system restore to before the most
recent update and the power notification reappeared, but the wireless is
still missing. In the Taskbar and Start Menu settings area the boxes for
volume and network are greyed out, so I cannot check them. Can someone
advise me what to do to correct this?

It did help very much. I ended up having to do the download option. My
volume and network icons are back now. Thank you for the link. (It makes
me wonder what made them go away in the first place--I've had the NB for
almost a year and they just disappeared a couple of days ago.)

    You're welcome Annie.

You might run a few full malware and antivirus scans to be extra safe
since you didn't disable them intentionally.
