Sorry Its the thread aboutCannot access Windows Management
Instrumentation software some files maybe be moved or missing
I've trawled all the tech sites and tried all sorts of fixes but to no
    avail
I've looked in my registry and found the first entry under

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
    \Eventlog

and found the first entry "default" as having no value

Could this be my problem ?

All i know is I cant access System Information as just having learnt
about this by doing a City & Guilds pc maintenance course 7266-11

This is damm annoying and would like to fix it

I did do a system restore saw System Information come up then it
    disappeared again

I have NO idea what you're talking about. I just looked this thread
up on Google Groups... and there's something there about running
msinfo32.exe and then getting the error. Is that what you're talking
    about?

On my machine it has the exact same value. When I run msinfo32 from
    Start/"Run", it works.

Don't know what to say. If you've tried all the fixes listed in the
thread, then maybe someone else can help.
