System boots into safe mode automatically

I have a laptop that I'm looking at that will automatically boot into safe
mode. I've restored the system from the earliest possible restore point but
that did not resolve the problem. The only clue that I can find as to the
cause is the following event from the system event log.

Event 7026, Service control manager eventlog provider
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
    spldr
    Wanarpv6

My guess is that this is the cause of the safe mode but cannot find any
    solutions to the issue. Help.

Have you recently added hardware, or updated drivers?

Firstly, I'd have him download and run
    and
while in safe mode. Let them remove
whatever they find then have him go the his video card manufacturer's site
and download the latest drivers for his cards. Also, do the same for the
sound card. If he has recently installed anything extra, uninstall it and
    reboot.

I cleaned off the 9 downloader trojans that malwarebytes found but cannot
load superantispyware because the windows installer service can't start while
using safe mode. However, the system still boots up into safe mode after the
    malwaryebytes cleaning.

Hope he has a current backup. Looks like something bad dug into his system.
Have you run a full virus scan with his AV?

Nine is a very high number. Whenever you have multiple malware
infections, there's a very good chance that you will never
successfully be able to remove them all, and often the only real
solution is a clean reinstallation of Windows.
