I'm really thinking that the Reliability Monitor will tell you if MS installs or updates a driver. I could be wrong, but that wouldn't be the first or the last time. Quote from "How To Geek"
When it comes to hidden gems in Windows, nothing beats the Reliability monitor tool, hidden behind a link inside of another tool that you don’t use either. Why Microsoft doesn’t shine more light on this really useful troubleshooting tool, we’ll never know.

Reliability Monitor tracks the history of your computer — any time an application crashes, hangs, or Windows gives you a blue screen of death. It also tracks other important events, like when software is installed, or Windows Updates loads a new patch.

Device Installation Settings have nothing to do with Device manager, Gary.:)
The path is clear on the image posted.

I'm glad you like RELMON, Gary, but I prefer the 300+ Event Viewer logs.

Hey John! The event viewer is a great tool. I just like the graft that Reliability Monitor produces. Both excellent tools and if monitored and interpreted, they can be a big help and can stop a issue before it's gets out of hand. Just like the event viewer, you have to know a little what you're seeing in the RELMON!
Good to see you friend. Hope you become a regular here on CHF!

With respect, three hrs ago you didn't even know that option even existed in Windows 10 Home edition.
The simplest method to find is on that image posted.
I posted so Windows 10 newbies firstly to tell them and you that option is available in the Home edition
and the simplest path to change options if they so wish.

Here you go Aussie. Here's a PSR. Step by step to get to your option. All members and staff this is a zip file.
I guarantee there are no viruses in this Zip. I'm tired of proving my self. This is a great tool.
I really hope this option will over ride W10 driver up dates, but that remains to be proven to this old country boy.;)
Of course I don't know any thing about W10. Give it a look @GimboV . I guarantee this zip is safe to open.;);)

Yes I have to agree the GUI is pretty drab in W10. I'm betting MS will correct this soon, although it really doesn't bother me that much! Please add any thing that you have learned about W10 to this thread! I'm sure there will be lots to add now and in the future.
    Good night everyone!

Hi Here's a program from Malwarebytes you might give a look after your W10 upgrade!
No one likes waiting for their computer to start - it's like watching paint dry (or golf). We at Malwarebytes know that you have places to go and websites to see so we created a lightweight and user-friendly way to speed up your start.

StartUpLITE provides a safe, easy, and efficient way to eliminate unnecessary applications that start when you turn on your computer.

By disabling or removing unnecessary entries, StartUpLITE can dramatically shorten your startup time with just a few clicks of the mouse. Stop waiting and start computing.

Gary did you install that "Startup-Lite"? I would suggest it is not a complete program and probably an unlabeled beta. The download says it is an installer but there is no mention on start menu and it does not show in program list so there is no way to manually use it or uninstall it. When I installed it, it came up with a checkmark in "disable java". Why would I want to do that? It's used on almost every website I go to. After I closed it I realize there was no way to reopen it. Because there is no way to uninstall it I went into the registry and removed the entries...lets hold off folks this thing is not ready for primetime!

Whatever you think Rich! I've been trusting Malwarebytes all my PC user years.
It shows up in my programs and also Search Everything! Shows up in down loads. I really doubt that Malwarebytes would risk their reputation on a rouge program!
Maybe you should read the directions Rich.o_O Dougie talking again.:D
    Usage

    • Simply download StartUpLight from the link above and save it to a convenient location
    • Double click StartUpLITE.exe
    • Select all options you would like executed and select continue

All programs should be test thouroughly befor linking or recommending.
Doing without testing first will give CHF a bad name when these programs screw member's PC's

This is a great program created by Marcin and malwarebytes.
This will not screw anyones PC up. Any program can be added back to start up. I would never ever recommend a program that I haven't tested or used. This is pure nonsense.

For all members concerned about start ups. Nearly every program wants to be in start ups. When you disable that feature, the program is only disabled until you use the program or add it back to the start ups
This is not rocket science folks! You can also disable start ups with CCleaner! This speeds up your boot time. You can always enable the programs again. If you need Java, it will still work. It just won't start up on boot. Can some one here please post and explain this to Rich and Dougie.;);)

No you misunderstood me Gary, I am saying I think this is a beta program unlabeled not a rogue program at all.
Many of us will never run beta programs because you have no idea what can happen in their system as the program is not fully tested
or a complete program. Mbam Exploit is also a beta program but so labeled as it should be. I suspect this is not intended.

Again you are jumping to c0nclusions here and we do have to be aware of possible issues which is the only reason I posted that. I care nothing for right or wrong only try to avoid possible liabilities. I installed it twice and it showed up nowhere not in Programs and Features or Program menu. I also checked Program Files and Program Files 86 and Program Data. I don't see the thing anywhere.

This is not a beta program. It is simply a program to disable start ups. Yes you can notify Malwarebytes if you have one you would like to add to their list. That's not unusually. I would never recommend a rough program. This just stops programs from starting up on boot. The program still works when you call for it. A lot of members here run MBAM Exploit with out any issue!
I give up. We need to talk Boss! This program has a high rating.

I'm not discussing this any further period! If you can't find it. Save it to your desktop! The program shows up just like any other program.

No option of where to install, another indication its a beta. My advice use Win Patrol, been around about 15 years through 7 versions of Windows and can be free or paid version ($25 for life I believe). The only difference is the paid version will take you to their website and tell you what the startup entry is, whose it is and whether or not is uses a lot of resources and whether or not it is safe to leave. Win Patrol, eitjer version will also can warn you of certain registry entries before they happen, a change in your home page on your browser and allow you to move items between "startup" and "delayed startup". I always run Antivirus in "delayed startup" because there is no reason to have that slow you down booting up searching for the same things it did when you shut down the night before.
