    Hi

wonder if someone can please tell me how to get the sidebar on my Vista back
on again. Has disappeared for some reason. So, no gadgets.

    thanks, Piet

  2. Start control panel then click on Appearace and Personalization. In the
next window click on Windows Sidebar Properties. In the next window put
a checkmark in the small box next to Start Sidebar When Windows Starts.
Then click Apply at the bottom and restart the computer. Click the
Headlines I typed not the small blue print. Good Luck this should
work. If not let me know with a reply.

Well here's a thing - it does NOT show up in my start menu there NOR
does it show in the start menu folder when viewed with Windows
Explorer BUT when I use Free Commander to look in that folder it DOES
    show!!

    What gives??!!

So maybe the OP looked there and couldn't see it!

There's more than one place where Start Menu items are stored.

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows
    C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows

Free Commander might have it's own place for storing Start Menu

It's just a short cut, Sidebar is under C:\Programs\Windows Sidebar.

Just create one if it's not there.

I found my Windows Sidebar under All Programs, not in the Accessories
    folder.
