I thought you don't buy Asus video cards? Did you change your mind? I also see you have a hybrid drive listed...Hmm did I sell you on it?
$15.99 for a 500W power supply??? Hmm Don't know if I would trust it. I mean I would try it but in the back of my mind I would always wonder. I remember buying a Ultra power supply when they were the only ones making modular supplies. When I got it home it rattled. I opened it up only to find a chunk of solder about the size of a half-dollar floating around in there. Yeah I removed it and powered it up. It worked for about a year then died.

It is Asus motherboards I have no luck with, video cards are fine.
Thermaltake Psu is not a $16 Psu but really a $55 Psu
    Ultra psus were puke!

Really? most people it is the other way. Yeah Ultra PS were total junk but they had a great idea with the modular concept.
Thermaltake just scares me either way due to a Snowgoose story about a fire using one.

Well Gimbo now consider the source Snowgoose, really? I used Thermaltake for years but again not all models
and only ever had one failure and it was not dramatic. They are not the best believe me but most of the CWT models are somewhat ok 500 watts or above.
Let me share a source with you so you can see who is really making the psu:

You are lucky bassfisher as Ultra are bad....

Ultras should come with a fire extinguisher. I also wouldn't want a a TR2 Thermaltake powering a system with a decent graphics card.

Well I have a TR2 Bronze 700 powering my newest build mentioned in this forum
and of course it is new so there are no issues. I have an MSI 750 GTX Ti on that which is not a super aggressive video card and I don't really do too much with that system.
Personally I think a lot of what we feel here is colored by our experience. Very few of these brands make their own products and that makes it even tougher to find ones that are good.
I usually only use Seasonic or XFX (made by Seasonic) but couldn't resist a good deal and I have used Thermaltake in the past. I actually bought it because it said it was modular and the price was great only to find out it isn't really modular which didn't exactly excite me.

I installed a TR2 600w in my brother's system, but it uses onboard video so no worries there.

I use a Tt Bronze 750W for a GTX 980. It worked fine for a HD 7870 and a GTX 660ti for a long time too. Still rocking fine.

Antec is good. Green series and High Current Gamer are good.
