Do you have an actual Vista Install DVD or is it a Vendor-produced
    Recovery DVD?

Vendor-produced (DELL). I know; I should have installed with my main
    PCs OEM disk....

Thanks. Looks like I don't have any options but to reformat/reinstall
as I don't use system restore or have any drive images.

    Thanks anyway. [IMG]

    Probably not.

If the Dell disc is typical, it will restore your drive to factory fresh,
losing all your data, installed software, and upgrades. The other, if it's
what I think it is, enables you to repair your installation without losing
    everything.

  8. The Dell Recovery Disk Disk Only Allows You 2 Clean Install Windows Vista, I
Also Have One Of Them, And Ever Since Windows 7 Beta And RC Came Out I Have
Stopped Using Windows Vista Completely. If Yo Decide 2 Use That Dell
Recovery Disk You Will Then Have 2 Reinstall Service 2 (And Service Pack 1
First If The Disk Does Not Include It In Your Recovery Install Disk Media).
You Will Also Have 2 Reinstall All Missing Device Drivers From
And Then Reinstall All You Missing Software And
Documents From A Backup Of Some Kind.
