    Cured this as follows
    open control panel
    then admin & settings
    then services
    scroll down to Windows Defender under column start up type found set at
    manual d click on this and change to auto start up
    exit admin

    this cured problem on start up hope it works for you :huh:

    Vista home 32 bit
