Re: unwanted program still listed in msconfig

I lost a program and was told that it was probably because of a registry
cleaner program. I am so unfamiliar with things like this and after searching
I found a program called reg cure. Could that be the problem and if so should
I uninstall it? I do have vista. Thanks.

Your subject heading has little to do with the body of your message. Are you
attempting to get rid of entries in your startup or attempting to find a
lost program?

If you are attempting to get rid of startup entries use CCleaner to do this.
Use the Tools->Startup option then you can disable or delete the entries.

Well RegCure is a useless registry cleaner which, like most registry
cleaners causes more problems than it cures. Should you uninstall it? Yes.
As you have found out it has already disrupted one of your programs. Sadly
the only people who benefit from registry cleaners are those people that are
selling them. I strongly advise people not to use them and I certainly would
not recommend them.

My 2 cents.
I used registry cleaners for a long time and they DID cause many
problems. More trouble than they're worth.
Haven't had one installed for some time now.
