    Need HELP!
I edited my may financial statements last night and save in two
different folder. I go to work this morning and both file disappeared. I
really don't have time to redo the cash flow and income statement. I
need to turn them in today.
I am panicking right now. The file is nowhere to be found and I am very
very sure I saved them in two different place. What happen? Where did it
    go?

Edited with WHAT? Quicken? Excel? Word? A custom application?

Which OS? Since this is the Vista general NG, I assume Vista, but you could
easily tell us exactly which of the many variations: Vista Home Basic?
Vista Ultimate x64 SP2? Telling us basic information in the initial post
saves lots of back-and-forth requests for details - especially when you need
    the answer quickly.

Have you looked in Start | Recent Items?

A technique that USUALLY works is to start to do the job again. Excel, for
example, keeps a list of recent files. You should be able to find and load
your recent file. Then, tell it to Save - or Save As... - and WATCH where
the file goes this time. Even if you can't find your missing file, just
tell the application to Save any document - but abort the Save after noting
the proposed destination; there's a good chance you'll find your missing
    file in THAT folder.

Thanks so much for your respon but I am afraid it is a little bit too
late. I have to stay up and redo the statements last night.
I use excel 2007 and the OS is window Vista home premium. When I can
not find the files the first place I looked, was recent items. When I
clicked the file name there was a window open and stated I either move
or delete the files. Which is impossible since that's the last thing I
did before I went to bed.
I really don't know what happen. Especially, I saved the same file in
two different folder. One folder was named "Mayreport" and the other was
named "Junereport". I did this because this month ending balance will be
next month beginning balance. The folder is still there the next day but
    both file disappeared.
I nearly had a heart attack.
I really would love to know what happen to my files.
