Forgive me Rich I got fed up with Outlook playing up - I have re-set the whole darn notebook, and I have M/Outlook 2010 perfect now except for entering my addresses for email. I know what they are, I have set up many computers before, yet W10 disagrees with me. I am hoping the technicians for the Village will be up here tomorrow - so I will get them to have a look. Meanwhile I'll put the thread on hold and get back to you as soon as I've got access to my emails.

Hi Rich, I am nearly there, got Hotmail up and running on Outlook 2010 and hope to have the other address working soon. I will have to read back and see if I asked you how to get rid of Bing (forever). Will be back.

Uninstall from Programs and Features. Open IE, tools, manage addons, Search Providers, then at bottom of page "add search providers" add in Google and put in check for default and then delete or remove Bing.

Rich, Bing was not in Programs and Uninstalls, so nothing to uninstall ???

I must have done something wrong. I actually downloaded Google Chrome - and I think that was wrong. I just wanted to have it as my provider instead of Bing. (I've uninstalled it now). I followed your instructions, where it said to "Find more search providers" I clicked on "add" for Google and nothing happened, so I went to the website. atm Bing is the only search provider shown, so I am stuck :(

Change default to IE then highlight and remove Bing.

or open Internet Explorer, go to the settings on the top right, click on it and then go to Internet option and you will see the page that opens up, change that to www.google.com or follow DSTM INSTRUCTION which ever is easier for you

You all have noticed that the Bing they are talking about is on the site its self and cannot be change. It is the search that the site used and not the browser?

Now if you were to look at the left you will notice where it says MSN which is owned by Microsoft hence the reason for the Bing Search on the site.

Now look just above the Bing Search and you will see the IE search bar.

    Bing.PNG

Basically here it is in an nut shell it is the SITE not IE.

Sorry Rusty but I gotta disagree with you on this one totally for 1 on the left it says (nine MSN) which is a news company it's not just MSN what I mean by that is MSN main search for Microsoft it's a totally different webpage 2 being being on the right is what says that the web browser which is crome is not using bing as a search engine and what we're trying to say is that by removing bing and adding a Google page as a search engine would take care of bing bing the main one in the correct way of doing it is by adding Google search engine through the add-ons then making Google to default and removing bing after doing that needs to make Google's main page which I post the instructions so the next time he starts up is Internet Explorer the main search engine will be Google and the main page will be also Google BUT you are correct on the bing being the webpage local search yes and rusty was that a picture of your screen because looks like internet explorer not google crome;)

No that was the same picture that they have posted on Post # 50. All I did was edit it.

I know what MSN is I worked for them for almost four years as a manager for them and their internet.

Thank you. Unless they post a screen shot like on Post # 51 guess we will never really know if it was done properly.

Ok Joodyanne are you looking to use the search function on that AU webpage you provided in the screenshot? If so there is no way to change it as you know a webpage is static to the outside user and is not changeable except by the person/s that code the webpage.

I think you were trying to say you were "searching" for the search provider google to change it from the default of bing and you then found "google" as a search provider but it didn't "take" right? but you had mistakenly downloaded the browser google chrome, which you didn't want and subsequently removed.

So now here you are and you are simply wanting to add google as your default search provider within Internet Explorer 11 is this a correct assessment? See post # 51 By Dougie there see if that helps you.

I have seen that before where I could not load Google into Search Providers because nothing happened and it is either Malware causing that or damage from removing Malware but I have failed on a few units myself. I think the only way you are going to get what you are looking for is to install Firefox which included Google among the choices and then remove all the other choices.
