problem after updates

Hi,
I connect to the internet by way of Hughes.net. After I installed the
updates on 10/14 I'm having problems connecting. When I first boot my
computer it will not connect to the internet. If I click on Start/Reboot and
the computer comes up again I can connect with no problem. Any Ideas?????
I'm about to uninstall all the updates from that date but I don't want to
because most of them were security updates.

Hi again,
Another thing I noticed is that my disk drive light is on a whole lot for
about 20 minutes and if I go to task manager my cpu usage is 45-100 percent
with nothing running. Also my laptop makes a poping sound every once in a
while. It sounds like its coming from the speaker, but the volume is all the
way off.
None of this happened until I did the updates.......
Any help would be appreciated.
