When I open Personalization, the links on the left column and the
titles/links on the right are hardly discernible because I use navy
background. (Changing the Unvisited links color in the Internet Options
does not affect them.) How do I make them light blue?

Let me rephrase my question. I have found that the 29 color designations
in the theme file are written in the Registry in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel, with names like ActiveBorder,
ActiveTitle, AppWorkSpace, etc. There should be some other Registry
settings for colors, because the Links color in the Personalization
screen appear also in other cases, like for example when you left-click
on the connection icon in the Taskbar, the there are 2 blue links at the
bottom; in this case their background is the 3D Objects background.
Where do they get their blue color from?

Are the 29 keywords that accept colors that are included in the theme
    file the only ones available?

You can change a few hyperlink colours, although perhaps not the ones you
    want, via

Right-click desktop > Personalize > Window Color and Appearance > Open
classic appearance properties > Advanced > 'Hyperlink' in dropdown box.

Thank you! This is the one I wanted! It works splendidly! The question
is how I had managed to miss the Hyperlink in the dropdown box that I
had gone up and down several times over the last several years (unless
it was not there in earlier versions of Windows).

In addition to affecting these links, it also affects the highlight
color, which is another very welcome development.

Straight blue (255 0 0) looks much better here!

    Many thanks again,
