Not even allowed access to font folder...

I am the only user on my computer and behind my computers name there is
    the "administrator" tag displayed.
so when I tried to access the "fonts" folder in the windows directory
through VLC player to change the subtitle font, I wasnt allowed to do
    that.

I then tried to give myself access through the acccess option tab on
the folder itself. It wouldnt allow me to change anything at all,
    everything is greyed out.

then I managed to somehow grant myself access and was able to check the
"full access" and all other options for myself but when I wanted to
apply these settings all these errors popped up because...again Iwasnt
    allowed to do that.
there two different entries for my user account in that list, besides
SYSTEM, Trusted Installer and the rest, one of them is listed as
    "Administrators(myname-PC\user), the other is just
"User(myname-PC\User), I dont even understand if I have administrator
rights or not, it seems not but why am I listed as administrator then.

I am very close to going back to Windows Xp because so far Vista has
been a huge disappointment, I am very angry right now, what am I doing
    wrong?

The problem is that MS's solution to their defective security
architecture was to deny the user access to any folder except the USER
area by default. This causes problems for anyone other than simplistic
    users.

To access these folders, you often need to add yourself to higher
level folders... working your way up the chain. Often, because of
other Vista bugs, it still won't work and you will need to reboot.
After reboot you will have access.

    Lame... welcome to Vista.

  3. You have to take ownership of that folder, PLUS, after that, you grant
yourself Full COntrol permissions (for that user which is YOU).

You can Google about how people deleted WindowsMovie maker, and other crap
folders by taking ownership else ift wouldn't allow to delete.
Vista is much fun comparing to WindowsXP but if Redmond folks they can
protect against people like me, it's futile.

I delete and access ANY folder on my laptop.
