Anyone have any experience with Nero9 on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
not wanting to install properly? Is there a newsgroup site for Nero
support? Any alternatives to Nero software will be appreciated.

If you went to GOOGLE, typed in Nero Vista 64bit you would come up with a
bunch of stuff. Most important would be the FORUMS for NERO that you should
    be going to.

Took me about 10 seconds to find it using GOOGLE.

Let's leave Google out of the equation here; this is a problem with Nero
9 not installing properly on Vista Ultimate 64-bit. After explaining the
entire situation to Nero Technical Support, this is the vague response I
    received from them:

    Dear Ian,

    thank you for your e-mail.

I had a few further reports on the issue with Nero CoverDesigner
and was able to reproduce the issue here on one of our PCs. It appears
that one of your newer E-Mails was treated as SPAM for some reason - so
if you had any other issue with installing Nero 9, please let me know.
There has been an Issue when using the current Nero CleanTool when
wanting to install Nero 9 - so I am wondering if you ran into this
obstacle. If yes, please excuse the inconvenience and contact me again
reagarding the way to install the latest version of Nero 9.

Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to
    contact us again.

    Best Regards

DUH! Hello? Did he think that my problem was so trivial to treat it as
SPAM? The CleanTool does not work properly, the installation does not
work properly, after downloading a patch of some 354MB from Germany that
takes a few hours and wastes my bandwidth, a program that does not
install properly is a waste of my time. The above communication was the
last I heard from Nero Technical Support. I have not been able to get
    any answer from them since.

  4. Well.. Sorry ...

I have never used nero clean tool, I just installed the new version.
It just tell's me it has to uninstall the old first then it just
installs the new one. I've been using nero for years and never have
had a problem with there software on my system but each computer
hardware , driver, software installed will always have mixed results.

What's the latest version you installed??

the one I'm using now is 9.4.13.2

So let's get down to some basics I'm sure you did try???

    Try a earlier version??
I know sometimes I will install a new driver for something and I take
it out and put the old one back in, sometimes it just works better.

When doing the install did you deselect the "Nero CoverDesigner"?
Maybe the rest will install fine could be just that part only unless
    you really need it.

What CDROM/ DVD drives do have in you system?

Is the "Hardware Firmware" for you drives updated?

are the software drivers that they are connected to been updated
    (IDE, SATA)....

What error are you getting? is there a error code #? Or do you just
get the windows box that pops up and said I don't think this program
installed right? did the install seem fine it just will not run...

If you can tell us "in detail" what you get might help with the
    problem.

Above all remember someone might have other things to try...

Usenet Newsgroups = Friendly Tech Support by the people for the
people. Let's Keep it that way !!

Don't let some of the other users in here get you down, just use the
"kill filter" in you news reader program that's what I do....

Keep up all posted we will try to help you get it going...
