MobSync.exe Opens When Disconnecting Printer

Discussion in 'Windows Vista' started by JamesJ, Jun 6, 2009.

I've been trying to prevent Mobsync.exe from running. I've spent many hours
on the internet and have another post that don't seem to be getting anymore
    takers
Now I found that Mobsync.exe opens when I unplug my printer. It stays open
    for about
10 seconds and then unloads. When I plug the printer back in it opens again
    for about
10 seconds and then closes. Of course Mobsync.exe opens many without having
    to
    unplug my printer.
I'm hoping this new information will help someone find a way to prevent
    Mobsync.exe form running at all.

    Any help will be appreciated,
    James

    What printer do you have?

    Does it have a scanner?

Which Windows Vista are you using?

Have you used a registry cleaner on the effected machine? I am not
recommending one, in fact I am totally against registry cleaners after I
found most of them can't even deal with pathname variables like %windir%, %1
and command switches. Most registry cleaners do not equate
%windir%/System32 with C:\Windows\System32. They mark these for deletion
because they not do not literally match the pathnames and you have go in set
these to ignore. Microsoft really needs to come out with a comprehensive
    registry cleaner of their own.

Mobsync doesn't start up on my computer unless I have created a sync
partnership with the USB device. Which is probably how it is suppose to
    work.

I am using Windows Vista Home Basic with SP2.

I will tell you if I find anything.

I've also found many others having this same prediciment.
    I found a tool that

When I unplug my printer which is a USB mobsync runs. And it runs many other
times also. In researching on the internet I have found many people having
    this
dilemma. I am not on a network so there is no reason for this files to run.
I did find a tool on the internet that denies Traverse/Execute permission
    for "Everyone"
I don't have access to the Sync Center anymore but that's fine.
