mircosoft vista

    hello
    i need some major help..
    i have 2 computers one vista laptop, and one xp desk
    i was hacked ...so bad...i could not evemb turn off my system..anyway
    and i just gotten my computers back, from getting a tune up. boy what a
    waste..
    vista laptop..told me i was using windows xp and i get that error
    message at windows, saying im not the admin. ..what do i do
    i am ready to download anything i need and restart, laptop ..BUT i
    forgot to make my backup disc's..
    my xp desk is have a booting issue and error..
    asking me reinsert, windows root system 32 hal dll..then it keeps send
    the same error..black booting page..i havent gotten in at all
    and one of them or both of them said i had windows 2000 ,i dont even
    own that program...im ready to start new but i have picture on both, i
    need to get them first.????ideas

    Exactly what were your symptoms? It's very difficult to try to help
    you unless you tell us what your problems were.

    Who did this "tune up"? How did you choose them? What do you mean by
    "tune up"? Exactly what did they do?

    Did they reinstall Windows, and install a different version from what
    was there before?

    "One of them or both of them"? Which is it? Above you said "vista
    laptop..told me i was using windows xp," which is very different from
    "both of them said i had windows 2000."

    It's very difficult to give you any ideas, since you really haven't
    described the situation at all. It may be that the pictures that were
    they are no longer there, if the "tuneup" people reinstalled Windows
    cleanly.

    If you paid someone to fix your problems, and they told you they did,
    but left you with problems, the responsibility to fix it should be
    theirs. Make sure they correctly do what you paid them to do.
