Have verizon webmail account on 5 computers that work fine. Cannot get Mail account to work on W-10 for it keeps saying Not Synced and Account Needs Attention and wants password updated. I have typed in every password I have used for this account plus the newest which works on all the PCs and also the verizon website webmail. If password is good enough for them what is wrong with windows 10 Mail? Maybe I am not setting it up correctly.convinced I am using the correct account name and password for it can send and receive on all the other PCs and the webmail.
    What is wrong here?

In Tools, select Compatibility View Settings and add Verizon.com.

Are you sure it's asking for you email account info :confused-92: Could it be asking for your Verizon router info?

Not even sure what it wants. I put in an incoming server number. Believe password is correct for it works on the webmail and other PCs.
Slowly reading books and getting the W10 set up so it looks familiar. Will get back to Mail today. It is not vital & mandatory but I would like it to work.

Good video. Do you recommend the All Free You Tube Converter/Downloader, YTD 5.0.1, or the HTML5 player, or what? Now using All Free.

Verizon wireless FiOS high speed internet. Set up on 5 computers and the web mail. Outlook Express 6, Windows Live Mail, and verizon web mail all work with user and password. Mail keeps saying "account needs attention" shows the account, and names it verizon and not my email address I typed in, the password has about twice the number of dots and my password. It says "update password". I know the password is correct for account for I can log in to verizon.net webmail.
My brother has w8 and said Mail never worked for him and he downloaded windows live essentials and uses windows live mail as I did with windows 7. I may try this also for dont know what I am doing wrong or what Mail wants typed in.

Forgot to say... it is the email program 'MAIL' on windows 10. Setting up my verizon email account with email address and password. Somehow it doesnt seem to like my password. And not sure Windows Live Mail will work on 10.

It is something simple BG, and sometimes you can keep looking at the wrong thing and it seems right...then sooner or later
    you will find the issue.

Live Mail should work on Windows 10, I have set it up for clients. There is another program you can try I am liking better lately called EM Mail.
    There is a free version:

Rich - eMail Client is great and easy to set right up. So is the Classic Shell though havent explored it yet. Helps me get started until I learn more. Thanks for the tips.

Exactly BG. Classic Shell gives you a Windows 7 start menu so you start out knowing where you are and how to get going....and EM Mail client is as easy as Live Mail to use.
Dan R (Dan 18270) who you should remember from KH is on Paltalk every week and he is a pro with EM Mail. Why not stop by Paltalk and ask him about it. He uses it for all his clients.

I read that to SYNC mail program you must have a Microsoft account which I do not wish to have because don't want more complications. So I think I will investigate the email client program and see what is involved. Otherwise I shall simply use the Verizon Web Mail.

eM Client works well. DL and making it default email account allowed it to detect my verizon account and show it and it works. I unpinned the icon from desktop for shortcut is in start menu. Also found IE is on PC so I make a desktop shortcut to that in case I need to use it. Since nobody seems to like Edge all that much, if at all, I deleted that and the Mail shortcut from desktop to neaten it up. The classic shell seems to work well and give me a familiar looking desktop and folders.
The Sleep thing seems resolved because when close lid the 'lightbulb' blinks instead of steady on, the battery charging light stays on for plugged in, and the HD light is off meaning hard drive is not running. When open lid comes on right away and desktop shows without scene and temperature/date or sign in screen appearing. So this satisfies me that it is in sleep when close lid for light indicators and operation is same with all 3 laptops. Typed Never in Hibernate advance settings, but plan to restart or turn off every few days or so.
My 11 year old Gateway XP laptop has a broken on/off switch that I CAN short out with small optical screwdriver to turn it on(like hot-wiring a car) but for 2 years it has stayed in Standby except for a restart every few days. Dont like to use switch because afraid it will break completely and I will need to pay a lot to replace it or scrap the PC. Occasionally I have NEEDED to turn it off and use the switch but dont routinely do so. I still use this PC most because it has most of my stuff on it, though W7 is side by side on my desk for handy use. All 6 PCs are wireless or ethernet high speed but the W98se two are not used much.
Guess that satisfies the email and the sleep issue. Thanks to everyone who helped me do it.

All good news BG. You will like the EM Mail client I am sure. On that Classic Shell you will see "Default Programs" and you can use that to bring up defaults and feel free to make IE your default browser or whatever you like.
