Logon Screen problem?

I would like for my laptop to do nothing when I close the lid and that
is how I have it set in Power Options. Most of the time it works
properly. Occasionally though, when I open the lid, it will be at the
logon screen. I have everything adjust so this won't happen, but it
does happen anyway. If I restart the laptop, it will behave properly
for a while but the behavior will start back requiring a restart. I
have done everything that I know how to do, but I can't seem to fix
this. Any suggestions, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did I not ask my question properly?

No, and you didn't wait long enough for an answer.

For example, you didn't say whether the computer is running on battery or
    AC.
