Hello, does this give any big performance increase? Is it worth it?

    Vista is not worth it...

The answer is "It depends". It depends on many things - How much RAM do you
have? How fast is the flash drive? How do you use your computer? The last
question is the one that's not easy to answer. Everyone uses a computer
slightly differently. The best answer is to try it on your system and see if
    it makes a difference.

that blog was full of bad advice and inaccurate understanding of how
    windows works..

but vista is so bad with disk IO that people are helplessly trying to
    solve these problems...

while with XP you had a quiet disk, with vista your disk never stops..

of course I have tamed the stinking beast.. but for other people vista
out of the box is just a horrible stinking experience.

Get a FAST thumb drive, only one I recommend is the SanDisk
Titanium which is FAST. Get a 4 gig or bigger, set ReadyBoost
2 to 2.5 times your RAM up to the max which is 4 gig. You can
use rest of drive, say from an 8 gig, as storage.

It really smoothes things out and particularly helps if you run a lot
of programs and or have big programs and/or huge files.

If the drive is NOT exceptionally fast you will be disappointed.
