IE8 won't sort favorites

Discussion in 'Windows Vista' started by keepout@yahoo.com.invalid, Jun 17, 2009.

  1. I used the reset ie8 button, and even that failed. it did 3 out of 4, red x'ed
the remove user customizations. The 1st item. Tried a few resets and still the
red x, and it won't add favorites or sort. Actually it will add, but not thru
    normal channels.
I grabbed the icon in the address bar, and moved it to the folder I wanted it
    in.

    And sorting does diddly.
This is totally annoying. Maybe there's a limit or naming format to the
favorites that is causing the problems.
I've been adding favorites for more than 10 years. And inserting '! and 0 and
_' at the beginning of folder names to keep them at the top when sorting. ie: I
can have a folder named _Zebra as the 1st folder at the top of the listings.

That might be why I had so much trouble with Firefox's favorites.

IE8 sort works fine for me in V Ultimate 64. I change, sort, move, and
    change favourites every day.
I don't add special symbols, though. I shorten titles occasionally.
The only annoyance I get with IE8 is the odd tab that hangs on a connection.
Opening another tab always solves it. - connects quick.
