ICS is Broken

When I first enabled ICS on my new Vista laptop (HP) several months ago,
it took several tries, but I figured it was just me. Yesterday, it
stopped working and the only thing that worked was deleting the shared
connection and reinstalling it, TWICE. Second times a charm. This
morning on boot up - same thing.

When I disable sharing on the network connection and attempt to
re-enable I get "Cannon enable shared access ERROR 765". Error 765
    doesn't seem to be documented.

The only real symptom I see is that the WIFI adapter that connects to my
other laptop doesn't get the 192.168.0.1 IP address that it should and
also doesn't give out an IP address to the other laptop.

Can't start ICS manually in services, but all dependent services are
running. Vista SP1 was installed last week and all was well. Nothing
    useful in the event logs.

I'm sharing (trying to) an EVDO air card that has worked great for over
    two months.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated

    Brad

ICS must only be enabled on one computer in the LAN and that computer has to
have IP address 192.168.0.1 on its ICS adapter.

  3. I've found theanswer to this issue

    1. Disable your NIC card
    2. Enable the following services to automatic and do not start the
    services
    a. WMI "Windows Management Instrument"
    b. SSTPS "Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service"
    c. RPC "Remote Procedure call"
    d. ICS "Internet Connection Sharing"
    e. Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
    f. Remote Access Connection Manager
    3. Restart the Computer
    4. Open Device Manager
    a. Enable NIC Device
    5. Enter WNCM " Windows Network Connection Manager"
    a. Turn on File Sharing
