You call me a sickie because I can recognize love between two consenting

Nor is Alias having s*x with farm animals, but that is what you claim.

I'm sure he doesn't suck c*ck, as you claim.

He's probably not wanted here, as you claim.

He doesn't rip pepole off by selling them free software, as you claim.

So who's the liar here ?

It's Frank. (That would be you...dipsh*t.)

Norton AV + PCtools Spyware Doctor are 2 things that have saved my job
TWICE, in one case preventing catastrophic loss due to a Trojan caught thru
    work DSL router.
I've never been infected in my entire life, except several times @work where
I could not control environment consisting of people with low computer
    knowledge.

My Posting wasn't meant to criticize Norton!
I simply stated the fact if you like myself disable AV & Spyware tools,
BEYOND just turning off their real-time protection (how you totally disable
things should be clear to experienced people, and if note - maybe you
shouldn't disable things you dont know about), and then your Network stops,
you bet... it was Norton who thought it's a good idea to shutoff network to
    prevent further downloading/infection/keylogging.
Actually it's a great idea, except it can disturb people who havent beein
"doing" computers fulltime and for many years. It's impossible to guess for
an average person that totally disabling Antivirus can 'remove" your TCP/IP
functionality. In my case it had todo with Symantec Ethernet pre-filter
    (?).

Very strange. I finally managed to disable it, yet maintain Network. My
Cable provider claimed I need to replace a modem, these dopes work/get paid
by TimeWarner, while I am looking for work and know better how to fix
things. I even called TimeWarner again and told them what I think about
    replacing a modem.
They sdhould replace their Techs as I was on IP-based phone while talking to
them, I mentioned this fact but Tech being a dope doesn't take into account
a bad modem would not let me talk on IP-based phone! Hello! And he gets
paid for "solving" my problem, which I solved by myself several hours later.

I am NOT the kind to be taught. I've been teaching others for several years

It wasn't deleting. I was disabling in Windows Services applet + MSconfig +
    threatfire + realtime protection.
I am nto deleting in a way that would indicate someone was born yesterday
and doesn't know how to uninstall things, uninstalling is not the purpose.
Temporary disabling was the pyrpose, and look it kjilled my network... crazy

I didn't know they had a DSL router at Jack-In-The-Box. Damn, you learn

You are correct. People working at Jack-In-The-Box usually don't have
the greatest computer skills. That is why they are working at
    Jack-In-The-Box along with yourself.

Keep trying to study and maybe within a year or two, you might be

Once again Alias provides noise to the Vista group, arguing with everyone
about that INFERIOR Ubuntu that NOBODY wants because it is a piece of crap.

Remember, Ubuntu has been free for years and still is on less than one
percent of the desktops out there. That should tell you all you need to

So Ubuntu being on less than one percent of the desktops after all these
years doesn't tell you anything? Come on now. If the product was that
good, word would spread incredibly fast, millions upon millions would
install Ubuntu and Microsoft would die a slow death. It just isn't

The reason that Ubuntu is not widespread has to do with the FUD that you
and others like you spew: that it's only for geeks. I used to believe
this FUD until I took it for a test drive and was surprised to learn it
worked out of the box and was actually easier to use than Windows.
Another reason is that OEMs like HP and Dell preinstall Windows on
machines and don't really give the customer a choice or even explain
    that there is a choice.

Ubuntu is spreading faster than you think and you will not be able to
spout the one percent crap much longer. I am sure if the USA was taken
out of the picture, Ubuntu would have a much higher market share
because, after all, half the population of the USA loves Bush, Palin and
Cheney which doesn't show much intelligence.

The reason OEMs install Windows is because it works. Are there problems?
Of course there are but for the most part Windows works. There will always
be people who don't pay attention and damage their systems, getting viruses
and screwing up their PCs but Ubuntu is just a toy for most people.

Ubuntu and Open Source has a long way to go to be accepted in mainstream
arenas and until major changes are made, Ubuntu and Open Source will always
    be on the sidelines.

Ubuntu may be spreading but not very much. You might see two percent within
3 or 4 years but with the new Windows 7 coming out and Microsoft did an
excellent job with it so far, I think Linux will still be just a blip on the
    radar.

I do not use Vista on my development boxes because Microsoft really made
some major mistakes. Now that they fixed those problems with Windows 7, you
will see that MS will just get stronger.

They are slow but they learn.

Time will tell, then, won't it? I think Microsoft's reputation is at an
all time low. You can't accuse your paying customers of theft until the
prove otherwise with WPA and the myriads of WGA flavors and expect to
keep a good rep. People are sick and tired of having to pay someone to
clean their machines of malware. They're sick and tired of BSODs.

I expect the USA will be last country to adopt Linux in any significant
numbers due to the large amount of Sarah Palin like people that live there.

Used to be half. It's down to 20%, at least for Bush and Cheney. But,
you are correct that there are easily brainwashable dopes here who
will swallow anything that they are told if it's repeated enough time.
After all, they bought the WMD story, despite all evidence to the
contrary. They bought the rumor that Saddaam was tied to 911, despite
serious evidence to the contrary. They buy that Mitt Romney is a
conservative, despite all evidence to the contrary. outright.

It's really a remarkable phenomenon when examined. They don't want to
read and ascertain actual facts, they take what they hear as rumor or
that someone with an agenda tells them and believe it as fact.
However, I don't think it's limited to the USA. People worldwide are
only too ready to believe what they want to believe or what sells well
    at the water cooler.

They don't do that. Only those who pirate software are pissed off at WPA
    & WGA.

People are sick and tired of having to pay someone to<!--coloro:blue--><span style="color:blue <!--/coloro-->

Ahhhh...telling people that the "cookies" on their computers are
malware, and charging them money to remove them is cheap thieving trick
you and others practice on the unsuspecting.

They're sick and tired of BSODs.

    I can't remember the last time I saw a BSOD...maybe with W 98?<!--coloro:blue--><span style="color:blue <!--/coloro-->

What a stupid irrelevant statement that is.
    But considering the source...it's expected.

I guess you failed to notice that you are constantly defending yourself
    against your lies in here.
Guess what sport, we've all noticed that you do that on a daily basis.
So who is it that you think you're fooling...other than yourself?
    Well chum...?
Oh never mind, we all know you'll just lie about your lies like the liar
    you are.

So now they will charge people for a fix to a product they never
should have released. Nice work if you can get it.

You must not understand software. There are always bugs in software,
especially Operating Systems. That is one thing I dislike about Microsoft
is charging for support when it's their issue, but there are times when it's
    user error.

MS should be more liberal with support for Vista but they aren't. That's
life and why this newsgroup exists.

I understand software just fine. I worked in software for years. I
worked with business software engineers, OS and core application
software engineers, and firmware (hardware support) engineers.

Never did any of them ever knowingly release software that contained
bugs. To do so would be irresponsible and grounds for dismissal. MS,
OTOH, releases software with documented bug reports in hand (10K AFAIR
for Win 2000; it's gotten worse in later releases).

There will always be "bugs" in realistic application and OS
programming that will be discovered after release. That's expected and
acceptable. MS should fix those without question or cost for support.
But, releasing software with known bugs? That's unacceptable most
    everywhere except at MS.

If you read almost any file accompanying a release entitled
"ReleaseNotes.txt" or what have you, you'll typically see a sectioned
titled "Known Issues", so it's quite commonplace for developers to
    release s/w with known bugs.
