Hoping that someone can help with this.

I've found that a recent windows Vista update conflicts with a particular
website that I go to. The update is KB960715. I went into the installed
update dialog and removed the offending update. The problem was that it
kept coming back. So I removed the update again and marked it as hidden.
Everything worked fine until the recent update to Vista SP2. Now the
website problems are back. When I run system updates to see the history,
the above patch shows up as installed successfully, but when I go to the
list of updates to remove it, it's not there.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

After installing some windows updates, I was having issues as well. The
error is most notable when attempting to move files in windows explorer
(right click, and windows explorer crashes), but my "save as" button is
also missing much of the time when attempting to download files. The
error showed iexplorer as the culprit, but upon more investigation, it
    turned out to be WMP.

Fix for me was to download shellmenuview from 'ShellMenuView -
Disable/enable context menu items of Explorer'
    ()

Run the program. Look for greyed out items, highlight them, then right
    click and select "enable selected."

Then try to replicate your problem to see if it is fixed.
