Hello all! My name is Glenn Simone. I have been using computers since 1987 both Apple and MAC platforms. I definately prefer the MAC's (I'm sure I'll have some great discussions on that subject) Reason for The MAC preference....I'm a graphic designer and production manager. What I'd like to acheive here in this forum, is my Windows PC (Home Computer) is very sick at the moment, and I hope to get it back too a much better working state. Please be pacient with me since my level if fixing problems on computers is not that high obviously. I like to defer to the experts here in this forum. Let me know where I need to go to get started.

    Thanks!
    Glenn Simone

Thanks BeeCeeBee & Oldcrow (like your avatars! :D )

Already posted to OS XP (home edition) Forum sounds like Kojak will try and resolve some of the issues I'm having with this darn frustrating PC of mine.

You think I should just give it up and purchase a new MAC and completely get away from MS windows? (great idea Bill Gates had...but I'm starting to like Steve Jobs ideas of what a home computer should be) I know they are more expencive but for peace of mind...it's worth it! Not saying they are flawless, but I have been working on MAC at work since 1987 and the problems with them were few and far between as oppose to the PC world.

    Glenn

Hi I go by Wildman, some may know me from other sites and it was from one of them I found this one. Also one of the members here is a member on the other site. I retired from the U.S.A.F. in 1988 and was a Military Personnel Systems Manager. I have been messing with computers on and off since the early 1970 time frame. I tell you up front, I am blunt, opinionated and skeptical by nature. Some like me and some don't, and I except this. I also have a vision problem and am subject to making typos, I do try and catch them but some occasionally get past me. So if I make a boo boo here that is most likely the reason why.

    Thanks
    Wildman

    Hi Wildman,

Welcome to CHF. No worries, we are fine with blunt, opinionated and skeptical.

Boy I do see a few familiar avatars and names. Thanks, I do believe I have found another place to direct people who are having computer problems and think I am the guru. Now is that ever a misnomer.

    Thanks
    Wildman
