Hardware Interupts Causing 100% CPU Usage

Discussion in 'Windows Vista' started by G Mail Account, Sep 15, 2009.

  1. Hi,

I have an Acer 4810TZ; Im looking for a definite fix for this 100% CPU
lock - when some hardware starts to hammer it with Interupt requests.

I know this can also happen in XP; but I want to know if Vista has a way of
    sorting the problem out?

Both Vista and XP do, but other than saying to look at task manager, without
some idea of what "hardware" is involved, It's difficult to even guess.
I assume that you have checked for updated drivers, BIOS, and all that.
And, that you have made sure that malware is not a player.

  3. First thing I did was to install Spyware Doctor from Google Pack and
performed a FULL scan....nothing major. The machine already has NOD32
installed; so I think the spyware and AV would be working fine. I did an
update which installed some updates for Network hardware.

Its already got SP2. and I did run MRT....well just a bit...then I gave up.
I removed LogMeIn - which installed a VGA- immulator in the device
    manager....I think...its an immulator.

The last thing I did was a BIOS update to the latest - V1.28. This had the
funny effect that it makes the machine lightning fast!!! It seems to remove
the prob; the machine is Single Core only - but Im worried since the SU2700
in some Web reviews is down as Dual Core.

    Any suggestions?

    Spyware from where?

Where's your logic... you should only install antiviral/antispyware products
    from their MANUFACTURERS.
Spyware is made by PC Tools of Ireland, and they also have a U.S. Sales
    office.
it's the best Antispyware ever crveated and it works well in tandem with
Norton Antivirus, aka Symantec Antivirus since the merged.
