    All others simply use virus/malware protection and stay away from
    infected web sites.

    I started online banking when the banks had direct dial-in modems and have
    been using it ever since with no issues. This is just another example of why
    you need to use common sense computing, not a reason to worry :)

    I can second this, I have also been using online banking since dial up and
    have never had a problem. Were talking many years online.

    Neither of you are targets of this scam. That doesn't mean that the
    people who lose their money will feel any better that two techies aren't
    worried about this threat.
