I have acquired a problem in the past couple of months with Vista
locking up. Pressing the reset seemingly being the only way to restore
normality. I know not where this fault has originated , ie I can't
trace it to a particular software/hardware change on my PC.

My system is quite modern and used to work fine so I am fairly certain
it is not hardware induced so I won't go into great detail except to add
that on the video side I have 2 X NVIDIA GeForce 9600 Gt's working in
    SLI.

The most common activity when it freezes is to be watching video,
usually WMV, although another area it seems fairly frequent is whilst
having conversations on chat sites (makes you look really rude!)

I checked the Windows application log and whenever this happens it
    always seeems to say:

    ! Information Date/Time LoadPerf 1000 None
    ! Error Date/Time LoadPerf 3011 None
    ! Error Date/Time LoadPerf 3012 None

Tried searching for solutions to the LoadPerf stuff but not being a
technocrat kept mentally disappearing up my ***.

Any ideas - short of a total back-to-the-drawing-board solution - would
be greatly appreciated. Sorry about the length of this but it's driving
    me nuts.

Make sure your power supply has enough juice for those two NVIDIA's. You may
be marginal. Try running on just one and see if the freezes go away. Then try
the other by itself as well.

  3. What size/brand power supply do you have? You may need larger. Make certain
that the extra power connector is firmly attached to the video cards. Mine
wasn't initially and I had many problems.
