For a few MVP's who called me a "moron"

Discussion in 'Windows Vista' started by kevpan815's Psychiatrist, Jun 9, 2009.

  1. So if you don't like the issues with Vista and File Copy, why not switch to
XP or wait until Windows 7 comes out?

No need to beat a dead horse.

You don't like Microsoft? Switch to Ubuntu for a week or two. Then
Microsoft won't be looking so bad when you come crawling back!

That is two years old. The bug was fixed in the first service pack.

    (This is some great entertainment.)

You keep posting 'proof' to the problem you are suffering. In reality,
noone ever denied Vista ever had these problems. As you found out, they
were/are well known. But, the latest problem you speak of was mostly
resolved with updates and SP1, and now SP2. But, you say you can't
update to SP1 (and thus SP2) because of some hardware device you have.

Well....what do you want then ?

See what you get for being impatient and needing instant gratification ?

You could have ordered XP media from TigerDirect or NewEgg over the
weekend and had it in hand today to get it loaded on this PC you have.
    But no.

What about your backup ? Why didn't you just restore that ?

  7. I would like to ask you to Google for FileCopy/progressbar problem and see
how Earth is filled with us - morons.

Here's an excerpt from another moron's artcile at
    http://www.vistax64.com/vista-gener...vista-calculate-time-remaining-file-copy.html
You have to admit it's not us being morons, it's your inability to admit
    FACTS:
My progress Bwr keeps dancing left & right, calulating time remaining
(always lying by a huge marging unlike WinXP), but it's not too important.
Important is that data transfer rate jumps from 16Mbps down to KBs
periodically as it scans thru multipel files. All it can fast is copying a
SINGLE large file, even that estimating time remaining and progress bar are
not as good as in WinXP
    ****************

This is one of the 500 admitted bugs Microsoft admits to in Vista and its a
    beauty. <grin>

I hate to keep harping on the same point, but it makes absolutely no sense
to me how such a basic function not just gets screwed up, but WHY Microsoft
would ship Vista with such a obvious bug in it. It totally trashes their
reputation. Oh wait, we're talking Microsoft. We know their reputation. Ship
and fix later. Everybody knows whatever version of Windows we're talking
about WAIT for the service pack
before most of the bugs are out.

All this stuff got to be related. Vista does a poor job of file handling. It
opens files needlessly to make thumbnails it already has. It downloads
codeces it already has and keeps trying to install new copies. Beta tested?
    Not very well obviously.

It should install and you should be able to get a driver for Conexant now. I
assume that you have tried recently?

Then that's not a problem with Vista, that's a problem with your
hardware. All hardware and software has bugs. Microsoft fixed theirs a
long time ago. If what you say is true, then HP and/or Connexant have
not bothered to fix their problem.

You should have researched the problem before you upgraded to Vista.
I'd say that's YOUR problem. Now, to get out of it you should either
pressure the vendor to release drivers for you, or you should install
some other OS, or you should disable the internal device and get an
external equivalent. Do anything, but please accept responsibility for
your own actions and quite whining.

Anyone can add MVP to there name this doesnt mean they are one.

I find most MVPs add there Microsoft link to there MVP profile and usaly add the badge.

This is not always the case though but they usaly do add the profile link which will also show information about them and what areas they are specific in.

Just some people like to think they are important when they are realy scammers.

    Hooray for the real MVPs.

A little checking would prove if they are genuine or not.

But if they did that they couldn't endlessly bash MS and Vista in every
post they make and what fun would that be for a trolll if they can't
    mindlessly bash something?
