The Adware showing on the system has been removed and the proxies have been reset.
The problems are not related to malware, so this thread can now continue.

Since they have give they system a clean bill of health.

Try browsing and see if the same issues reoccur. If they do create a new user on the system and see if that user have the same browsing issues.

    Let us know.

I Created a new user and browsing seems to work fine. So I guess if that other user is no good I need to use the new one? Is it possible to transfer all user permissions (or what ever it would be called) over to the new user? The user that doesn't work right had all Admin authority. And should I delete the older user? Or just don't ever log in as that user ever again?

Run ADW Cleaner and if that doesn't get rid of it, Starbuck will help you, again.
Scan and click Clean when finished. Post the log so Starbuck can advise.
You need to get this off your system.

You said you created a new user account already. #25

sorry I haven't completed your steps yet for creating a new user. I was about to, but go side tracked. Then that weird message popped up. I'll probably have to do it tomorrow.

Starbuck had your system clean. You really need to be careful what you click on.

Is "Amountsearch" showing in the control panel under "Programs and Features"?

You say the window just popped up..... I'm betting you had your browser open.
These scams are not uncommon and are placed on legit sites just to fool you into clicking on the ok or phoning them.
I've had these a couple of times when searching for stuff.
Just don't click on that ok button..... close your browser down (effectively closing all tabs ) Clear your history and don't use that webpages again.
It's basically just a webpage and normally there's nothing on your system at all.

Using a local account (limited user) will afford you some extra security.
But you would need to leave your Admin account as it is and add the local account.
There are certain things that you can only do from an Admin account.... that's why you would still need it.

How to Create a New Local User Account in Windows 10[/QUOTE]

Is there a way to transfer user settings from my Admin account to the Standard User account? Like book marks, saved files, etc? Also with the Standard account I'm only able to access 2 of the drives on my system. I have 2 old back up drives and 2 New drives I store everything one. I'm now not able to access those 2 new drives. Which in turn makes this new standard user useless. I thought I could give access to this new user. but I cant' find any settings other than Admin and Standard.

    Hi Devin,

I do know that if you use more than one device and use a 'Microsoft Account' to log in to these.... then you can sync the settings quite easily.
But how this works between an Admin account and a standard account, I have no idea I'm afraid.

    This may give some insight:
How to manage Microsoft and user accounts in Windows 10

I take it that you set up the standard user account through the 'Your Family' section of the settings app.
Did you then choose Adult or Child? .... 2 different types of standard user account.

A standard user account is more secure due to the fact that access is limited to the user.
Users with this type of account can run applications, but they can't install new programs.
Users can change system settings, but only settings that won't affect other accounts and they can't change any security settings.
Maybe this is the reason that some of your drives are not accessible from the standard account.

I'm the only one who uses this computer. I was told in other forums I shouldn't use the Admin account and that I should create a Standard User. I thought the security issues was from online threats. But it sounds like that was referring to limiting other Users from accessing parts of the PC? Again I'm the only person who will ever use this PC. But if that Standard user isn't able to access certain drives or download programs I don't see the point in using a Standard User. I was never given an option to pick between Child or Adult. Also I don't use any Mircosoft devices except my PC. I have no other accounts. What I was asking, is it possible to transfer all settings etc from my Old Admin user to a new Admin user? Or if that is even possible. If it's not possible I guess I will have to manually do this. Which will be a pain in the butt. But after going through a few different online resources it appears I can't just have a Standard User. I need to be logged in as the Admin so that I can access all my drives.
