First I would like to thank those who helped so far in my problem in a
    privous post.

Now onto the problem. I have a DVD drive that works in other machines
but not in this one! It plays DVD movies, but not DVD games, the drive
keeps saying the drive is empty? The games are Vista compatiable and
work in other machines also running Vista and XP. The drive has been
tried in other machines are works fine. The issue is only with DVD
games. CD games and music etc work fine too. So the issue is with DVD
games only. The DvD games have been tested on other machines with the
same drive and other drives and work fine.

I have found that a piece of software installed a while back, that has
since been removed, is the cause of the problems. I have come to the
conclusion that when I uninstalled the program it did not do so
correctly. The downside is I have no backup from before the software was
instaled. I only keep backups for 2 months, and the same with system
    restore.

The idea I had was to unistall the drive, reboot, then it would re-
install drivers etc. But this did not cure the problem. When you
uninstall a device does the remove registry keys or not? as the problem,
i think, is a registery issue.

What registry keys do i need to remove? and will a reboot re-install
these back to when i installed vista (or close to it!)?

any help would be great as i need to get this drive working.
