Display on desktop of broadband speeds.

If I'm not in the right group I apologise in advance.

Broadband speeds. I know it's easy to learn what the current speed at a
particular moment is by using one of the many people on the web providong
that service. What I cannot find and would find useful if I had it would be a
display - rather like the clock at the bottom RH corner, for instance. A
display that would show constantly what the speed is, or failing that, by
reacting to the cursor being on it.

Is there such a thing and could any kind person point me towards it?

    Thank you.

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for your very quick reply.
I've had a look at the site and the software is not suitable. I'm in the UK
and the download offered is for the US only. Good try though.

    Cheers

  4. There is probably a Sidebar Gadget which will do what you want.

This might be a bit of an overkill:

(You can try it for 30 days - after that it's $30)

I'm using Home Prem. 64-Bit and my Sidebar, when I chose Get more gadgets
online, listed a well rated Speed Test at
    .
    Does that work for you?
I didn't bother as I lost interest in that sort of stuff long ago.

??? These are absolutely free. You download, click on install. It puts
it on the sidebar with any other gadgets you might have. Then you can
detach if you want. These are added to your "add gadgets" list
automatically. There's wired and wireless network meters. I'm going to
look further and see if I can find any other styles.

All it shows is cpu and ram for free.
To show network connection speed, you need the paid for version(or at least
register for a trial, which I did not bother to do)
