[Solved] dell insprion 545 not starting upl pleasee helpppppp

    That test only confirms if the psu is "dead". It does not determine if the motherboard and/or cpu is getting the correct voltage. It also does not test the psu properly, as the psu isn't under "load".

    Your next step is to replace the psu and hope that the issue isn't the cpu or mobo.

    In most cases, trying to repair a psu isn't considered practical or viable. If you bring it to a shop, it would take about 1 minute for a tech to quickly hook up a psu to determine if the problem is the psu. If they're an honest shop, they'll do that for free.

    Those are for the slim lines. It looks like the S following the model number is short for slimline.

    EDIT- I missed the part that you don't have a slimline. As such, any low cost standard power supply will work.

    Well that's great news.

    It goes to show how the pin test is only accurate on a negative result. This is also true of typical psu testers, as they aren't testing the psu under load.

    Side note: This is also true for software programs that claim to test the hardware. That is, they are only accurate on a negative result.
