default folder view - my way

    Is there any way that I can set up a default view for new folders I create?
    Lately all folders seem to create themselves as "pictures and video". I am
    of the old school and work with file extensions and dates, in detail view,
    not icons; and I want all folders, including images and video to display in
    'all files' and detail view. How can I accomplish this? I've got Windows
    Vista Ultimate.
