I have a H.P. Machine that my wife uses for her work at home as a
    graphic artist.
The problem is it runs check disk at start up each time and hangs at
about 3% and requires a reboot but eventualy it will get through it an
    work.

We have reinstalled the factory software(restore) 3 times. The last
time we left the system bare and ran it for a while it seemed to work ok
for a few days then it acks up again, diffrent bug each time.

Now we have all of the programs installed and we are having check disk
problems. We thought it might be norton 360 so we uninstalled it and it
seemed to help overall performance but we still have the check disk
    issue.

The last time also we installed one program per day to try to isolate a
program issue but that did not work either.

I am beginning to think it is a Vista bug that keeps poping up but how
do I fix a problem that cannot be isolated?

Any Help would be great, willing to try anything.

If CHKDSK insists on running, there is a problem with the Windows file
structure and/or the hard drive itself..
