Can't Open Fonts

I am having a problem with opening ttf's.

I usually just double click, and the font will open.

    Now, I get the message:

To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use
    to open it.
Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually
select from a list of programs that are installed on your computer.

What do you want to do?
Use web service to find the correct program

Select a program from a list of installed programs

I have never gotten this message before. As I said, I just generally
double click. I then minimize it to use without installing.

    Help, please.

    TIA

    Using Vista Home
    64bit

What you want is the fontview.exe program in c:\windows\system32 directory.

Is it there already and needs to be enabled, or do I need to download?
    Thanks so much!
I also read that this is a program with trojan/viruses.
    Not sure what to think....

Unless you deleted it, it should be there already. You just need to
selected it when it asks you to "select from a list of programs that are
    installed on your computer".
